Benes Show Horses is located in Wells, MN on 10 acres of beautiful fenced pasture. They specialize in breeding, raising and showing quality APHA, and PtHA horses in the pleasure horse industry. They run their breeding program with the firm believe that


Megan started showing horses in 1971.
Competing successfully over the years in Open Shows, PtHA, APHA, and AQHA shows.

1991– Megan married Lad Benes. Megan and Lad, a dairy farmer from New Prague MN, started to slowly building a small group of quality horses, while Megan continued to show.

1997– Saw the birth of their son Laddy. This changed the focus of the family. Laddy started his show career at 18 months of age in leadline. By 2 1/2 he'd had his win. He continued in open shows with his two ponies, starting in walk trot by the age of 4. At age 5 we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to lease a world champion pony by the name of Itsy Bitsy aka "Itsy". This started our show focus in Pinto. Laddy has chosen to continue is focus showing Pinto. At age nine, he showed at his first world show with Itsy, coming home with one world championship and three reserve world championship. He returned to the Pinto World at age 11 with a Miniature named DND The Bachelor, aka "Bob". Returning home with four world championships and one reserve world championship. At the age of 12 he is now nationally ranked in both youth and open on his horse QTs Scotch N Seven aka "Scotch".

2004– The Benes family moved to Wells, MN. The decision was made to start a small, but elite APHA breeding business. The Benes's began searching for just the right mares and breeding to the best western pleasure and all-around stallions in the industry.
